Sheikh Muhammad Javad Ansari

Sheikh Muhammad Javad Ansari Hamedani, outstanding Iranian scholar (1902 – 1960), Hamedan – Iran, born into an educated and religious family. His father “Mullah Fat’h Ali Hamedani” was one of the the greatest scholars in Hamedan. From the age of seven started learning the sciences, morphology and syntax under his father, at twelve studied jurisprudence and principles and some philosophy books, such as: Manzume Sabzewari (great philosophical work by Mullah Hadi Sabzewari) and Asfar (Mullah Sadra’s eork), in the presence of the prominent#### scholars of Hamedan: Ayatollah Mirza Ali Khalkhali, Haj Seyyed Arab, Ali Shahidi and Muhammad Ismail Imad al-Islam. He also studied physician, ethics and epistemology under Mirza Hasan Kowsar Hamedani. At the age of 24 achieved the rank “Ijtehad” (the expertise to interpret religious and legal matters independently). All the scholars of Hamedan confirmed him. Then traveled to Qom and attended the classes of the significant scholar “Ayatollah Abdul Karim Haeri”, and was confirmed by him as well. He also studied for some years in the presence of “Seyyed Abul Hasan Isfahani” by the request of Ayatollah Haeri. His Ijtehad was confirmed by Seyyed Abul Hasan Isfahani, Ayatollah Qomi Boroujerdi and Muhammad Taqi Khansari.
