Patience and the patient in the Koran

Patience as a superior characteristic is considerably mentioned in the Koran:

1. Seek help through patience and prayer. (2:45)

2. You who believe, seek help through patience and prayer: God stands alongside the patient! (2:153)

3. We shall test you with a bit of fear and hunger, plus a shortage of wealth and souls and produce. Announce such to patient people. Who say, whenever some misfortune strikes them. “We belong to God, and are returning to him to him!” (2:155-156)

4. You who believe, act patient, discipline yourselves ready! Head God so that you may succeed.(3:200)

5. However those who had been given knowledge said.” It will be too bad for you! Gods recompense is better for any one believes and acts honorably.  Yet only the patients will encounter it. (28:80)

6. We even set some of them up as leaders to guide [loeople] at our command, once they were patient and convinced about our signs. (32:24)

The following verses have been reveled about the patient:

1. A group of my servants used to say: “our Lord, we believe, so forgive us and have mercy on us, you are the pest one to show mercy!”(23:109)

2. I have rewarded them today for how patient they have been, they are triumphant.( 23:111)

3. The ones we gave the Book to previously believe in it, whenever it is recited to them, they say: “we believe in it, it is the Truth from our Lord! We have already committed ourselves to [live in] peace. “Those will be given their payment twice over because of what they have endured , ward off evil  with good and spend some of what we have provided them. (28:52-54)

4. Those who persevere in seeking their Lords countenance and keep up prayer and spend whatever we have provided them with both secretly and publicly, and ward off evil with good , those will have the compensation  of the [final] Home, gardens of Eden which  will enter , as anyone who has acted honourably among their  forefathers, their spouses and their offspring.

Angels will come in on them by every gate: “peace be upon you because you have acted so patiently!” How blissful will the compensation of the Home be!(13:22-24)
