Naser Khosrow Qubadiani, (1004-1088 AD) was a Persian poet, philosopher and traveller. He was born in Qubadian, a village in present day Afghanistan. He was proficient at all the branches of natural sciences, medicine, mathematics, astronomy and Greek philosopy. Also he had studied Arabic, Turkish and Greek. Naser Khosrow worked as a financial secretary at Ghaznavid court, for some years, but suddenly he was inspired by a dream and his life completely changed. He started a pilgrimage to the holy shrines of Mecca and Medina. During his seven years journey (1046-1052), visited Africa, Iraq. Egypt , Palestine, Syria, Sudan and some cities.
