Ali Ibn Babwayh Qomi, celebrated jurisconsult and father of “Sheikh Saduq” (great traditionist). Abul Hasan Ali Ibn Babwayh was one of the most famous Shia jurisconsults and traditionists in his own time and also the great leader of people in Qom – Iran. He was attended by “Imam Zaman” (the 12th Imam of Shias) and received a letter from him by his third deputy “Hossein Ibn Ruh Nowbakhti”. In the letter, Ali Ibn Babwayh had been given good news on birth of a son (Sheikh Saduq) who then became a great scholar. Celebrated bibliographer and historian; “Ibn #### Nadim” said about him: Ali Ibn Babwayh was one of the greatest Shia jurisconsults and the most reliable traditionist. There are left around 200 books of him but he himself had stipulated of the greatest Shia jurisconsults and the most reliable traditionist. “Abbas Ibn Umar Kalwdani” and “Jafar Ibn Muhammad Quluyeh” were permitted to quote Prophetic Hadiths from Ali Ibn Babwayh. He passed away in 941 and was buried in Qom.
