Parvin Etesaami

Parvin Etesaami is the most famous contemporary Iranian poetess. She was born in 1907 on March 17th, in Tabriz. In "Dehkhoda dictionary" her name is written as "Rakhshandeh", although in her birth certificate it was "Parvin", at that time this name was not common for girls. She chose it as her pen-name. Her fathert( Mirza Joseph E'tesaam'olmolk) was a writer and translator, also he was proficient in Turkish, Farsi, Arabic and French languages.
Her mother also was a poetess in period of Qajar. ####
Life
When she was a child, came to Tehran with her father and studied the preliminaries of Persian and Arabic literature by her father, Allameh Dehkhoda and Bahaar (The Prince of poets), then she went to girls' Iranian school in Tehran. She graduated at the age of 18 in 1924. Ten years later in 1934 she married her cousin who was the officer of head quarters, but after two months and half she divorced, because of the immoral and corrupted atmosphere of her husband's house. She stayed single up to the end of her life. Some of her poems were printed in Bahaar magazine which was published by her father. When 20 years passed( from start of writing her poems) Bahaar encouraged her to publish her Poetical Works. It was published in 1935, at that time she was a famous poetess. In 1936 she was employed in Culture Ministry.

Works
Her Potical Works contains 248 poems which 65 of them are a conversation between different creatures. Her Poetical Works is a combination of lyric, elegiac and couplet poems and literary prose. Some of her poems are full of maternal love and kindness and sympathy towards poor people and orphans.

Death
She suffered from typhoid, when she was 35 and passed away in 1941. Her corpse was buried in her family cemetery in Qom.
