Badio zamaan Forouzanfar

Badi'o zamaan Forouzanfar was an Iranian researcher and literary man. He was born in 1905 in Boshrouyeh (one of the cities of Khorasan). He learned preliminaries of Arabic and Farsi literature in Boshrouyeh and at the age of 16 he went to Mashad and studied Logic, Arabic and Farsi literature, in the presence of "Adib Neyshabouri". In 1925 he came to Tehran and studied philosophy in the presence of "Mirza Taaher Tonekaboni" and also methodology in the presence of "Hossein Najm'abadi". When he was 24, started teaching in "Dar'ol Fonoun school" in Tehran. #### When Tehran University was built, Forouzanfar was chosen as the professor of Literature and theplogy colleges, then he became the manager of theology college and in this position up to the end of his retirement. After retirement he was assigned as the manger to "Royal Library". Among the Iranian contemporay researchers, Forouzanfar could obtain a special position, because of his strong memory.
His researches are mainly about "Molaviology" (the knowledge of Molavi/ he was an Iranian poet). Forouzanfar has many works, which their most important are as follows:
- Speech and speaker (1933)
- A Threatise on Molavi's life (1936)
- History of Iran's literature (1938)
- Summary of "Masnavi"[the work of Molavi] (1942)
- Traditions of "Masnavi" (1955)
- The source of "Masnavi's stories and allegories (1954)
- Alive awake (Zendeh bidar) [ it is the translation of Hay Ibn Yaqzan] (1955)
- Biography and crticism of Attar's works ["Attar" was an Iranian poet] (1961)
Badi'o zamman Forouzanfar passed away in 1970.
