The influences of art and beauty from the Islamic view

Tendency towards God, knowledge, goodness and beauties innately exist inhuman essence.
Beauty is one of the inseparable elements of human essence, means any kind of work which is not beautiful would not be a work of art.

Human innately has a tendency towards beauty, therefore he shows also a tendency towards art and works of art, as a result all the divine religions and prophets were appropriate to human nature, means they were not against art.

Art performs a significant role in explaining anything which could not be said directly.
Poetry is the most beautiful form of art:

Human beings are members of a whole
In creation of one essence and soul
If one member is afflicted with pain
Other members uneasy will remain
(by. Great Persian poet; Sa'di)

This poem is borrowed from the Prophet's Hadith: "treating kindly towards each other (among believers) is similar to human body; when an organ is in pain, the other organs sympathize with it."

Beauty in the Koran

Anyone who associates anything with God will feel as if he had fallen out of the sky and the birds had snatched him away, or the wind had blown him to some far off place. (22/31)

In the works of art there is not the intellectual complexity which exists in scientific works, that is the reason why the scientific and philosophical language can not be understood by all the people; but the language of art is easy and understandable.

The indirect method is the most preferred and reliable method for carrying message and it is highly noticed in religious resources:

Tell such stories so they may think things over. (7/176)

There is a lesson in their stories for prudent persons. (12/111)

Therefore art can indirectly influence.

Art as the universal language

Language is one of the ways of transferring the cultures.
Some of the arts such as: painting, tiling, photography, sculpture, graphics etc. do not need any language and easily spread among all the nations and cultures.

"August Conte" (French philosopher; 1798-1857) believes art is an international language, and confirms that all the children should learn painting and music.

Art has a long-lasting effect; in "Qadir-e Khom" (where the Prophet appointed Ali Ibn Abi Taleb as religious leader and the Prophet's successor after his death), the Prophet asked "Hasan Ibn Sabet" to compose a poem on this great historical event because poetry as an art has a long-lasting effect.

The fast aspect of spreading art

Generally works of art spread rapidly and easily; of course it strongly depends on the quality of the work.
