Ibn Shlan Sawuji

Zayd al-Din Amr Ibn Sahlan Sawuji, known as Ibn Sahlan, Persian philosopher, born in Saveh – Iran, but lived in Nishapur. There is little information of his life. He was the student of Sharaf al-Din Ilaqi. It is said that, he wrote a gloss (in Persian) on Resalat al-Tayr (the treatise Bird; written by Avicenna). His most famous work, the book “Basaer al-Nasiriyeh” is one of the best logic books. All his works were burnt in fire except the mentioned book. He is considered as a distinguished philosopher.
