This book is the Persian translation of the first volume of the Arabic book “Life of the Prophet and His Chaste Family”, written by Muhammad Baqer Behbahani; on the life of the fourteen innocent ones (the Prophet and twelve Shia Imams and Fatima- the Prophet’s daughter-) in 8 volumes (other volumes are in the pipeline).

The author
Allameh Muhammad Baqer Vahid Behbahani was one of the great scholars, born in (1707 – 1791), Isfahan – Iran,#### into an educated family. His father was one of the descendents of Sheikh Mufid –prominent scholar- in 1723, he traveled to Najaf and continued his studies in the presence of the significant scholars: Seyyed Muhammad Tabatabaee Boroujerdi and Seyyed Sadr al-Din Qomi. Many great scholars were trained in his presence: Allameh Bahr al-Ulum, Mirza Mahdi Shahrestani, Seyyed Ali Tabatabaee, Sheikh Jafar Kashef al-Ghita and Mullah Mahdi Naraqi.

He wrote over 70 treatises and books; some of them as following:
- Explanation for the book “The Keys of Jurisprudence” (Mafatih al-Fiqh; written by Mullah Mohsen Feyz Kashani) in eight vlumes.

- Gloss on the Book “Madaarek”
- Treatise on Force and Free will
- Fawaed al-Rejaliya
- The gloss Behbahaniya
- Tohfat al- Hosseiniya
- The principles of Islam
- Dissimulation, etc.

Structure of the book:
1- The first chapter: the first part, on the creation, birth and childhood of Imam Hossein. The second part, on the reason of naming the Imam as “Hossein”, the Imam’s titles, et.
2- The second chapter: the first part, on virtues of the Imam. The second part, on the reasons for the Imam’s caliphate and Imamate, etc.
3- The third chapter: on the miracles of the Imam before martyrdom
4- The fourth chapter: the first part, on the Imam’s good morals, worship, courage and asceticism. The second part, on the Imam’s generosity. The third part, on the Imam’s reasons against Mu’awiya and his companions
5- The fifth chapter: the first part, on what had been said by prophets about the Imam’s martyrdom. The second part, being informed the Prophet by God on the Imam’s martyrdom. The third part, being informed the Prophet by God on the Imam Hossein and Hasan’s martyrdom and their parents’
6- The sixth chapter: the first part, on the Prophet’s news on the Imam Hossein’s martyrdom. The second part, on Imam Ali’s news on the Imam’s martyrdom. The third part, on Imam Hasan and some of his companions’ news on the Imam’s martyrdom
7- The seventh chapter: the first part, on what should be done in Muharram (the first Arabic month) and Ashura (the 10th day of Muharram). The second part, on the divine rewards of crying and making cry for Imam Hossein. The third part, on the high position of the other martyrs in Karbala
8- The eighth chapter: the first part, on what happened to the Imam in Medina. The second part, on what happened on the way back from Medina to Mecca
9- The ninth chapter: the first part, on dispatching Muslim Ibn Aqil (the Imam’s cousin and faithful companion) to Kufa. The second part, on the state of Muslim’s martyrdom. The third part, on the Muslim’s children’s martyrdom
10- The tenth chapter: the first part, on the Imam’s decision about leaving Mecca
11- The eleventh chapter: the first part, on dispatching Umar Ibn Sa’d to Imam Hossein by Ibn Ziyad to fight against him. the second part, on the happenings from the night to the morning of Ashura in Karbala. The third part, on what happened in the morning of Ashura which led to fighting
12- The twelfth chapter: the first part, on the state of fight of the Imam’s companions and their martyrdom. The second part, on the state of fight of the Imam’s family and their martyrdom
13- The thirteenth chapter: the first part, on the Imam’s aying farewell to his family; and Ali Asghar’s (the Imam’s six-month old- son) martyrdom. The second part, on Abdullah Ibn Hasan’s (the Imam’s nephew) martyrdom and the state of the Imam’s martyrdom. The third part, on what happened to the Imam’s family after his martyrdom.

The book was published in 2001.
